We are delighted to have been invited to St Keverne summer Fete on Sunday, July 8th, 2018 from 12 pm onwards. There are lots of exciting competitions and games to take part in and all proceeds will go towards their annual fireworks display in November.
We look forward to seeing you all there… Right, better make some cakes 😉
Alright folks, we’re less than a week away now so here’s a bit of a timetable for the day and more detail on all the exciting things we have happening!
12 noon: Gates open!
The beer tent will be running and we’ll have the barbecue cooking from the start, so why not head down for a burger and pint lunch, then stay to enjoy everything else on offer?
We’ve got competitions to try your hand at, including guess the number of sweets in a jar, treasure hunt, name the teddy and guess the weight of the cake kindly donated by Dawn’s Edible Elegance, along with a raffle – donations of prizes gratefully received!
Games will include a bean bag throw and coconut shy (to be confirmed).
Pam will be bringing her plants along to sell, there will be gifts from Head Rush Gifts, Scrabble art by Linda Harris, St Keverne Pre-school will be running a book stall, Terry Lander from Lyvit will be bringing along his popular range of books to buy, Mickey Harding will be selling a range of goods, and Truly Cornish will be back with their amazing cupcakes, which sold out on fireworks night.
We’re also extremely excited to be welcoming Bite Me Catering with their incredible Crispy Hot Cakes! If you haven’t heard of them before now you will have afterwards – vanilla sponge cooked in a light tempura batter, then filled with your choice of sauce and topping. We promise they’re not to be missed!
Porthoustock Coastguards have also promised to come along with some displays and to show off their vehicle.
For children we’ve got face painting and then at
2.30pm: Children’s races in the field.
We’re planning all the old favourites, with medals for the winner in each one.
3pm: Strongman (or woman!) competition.
Definitely one for the adults. Are you up for the challenge of holding a beer keg outstretched for longer than anyone else?
4pm: Tug of war.
Watch teams battle it out for the title of champion puller! Plus there’s still time to enter – teams of six, £1 per person. Thank you in advance to Helston and St Keverne Young Farmers’ Club for the use of their rope.
Plus a fairground organ to give that true fete feel, interspersed with music from the talented members of Spring Tide Tour and finishing the evening off with the ever-popular Three Tuns regulars Crossfire 69.
We hope there’s something there for everyone, so all we need now is the weather 🙏☀️
Just a reminder that all profits will go to this year’s fireworks display in November, which will be in aid of St Keverne Pre-school. Let’s make it an even better display than last year!
